4 years of OpenWFE

OpenWFE was registered on May 29th 2002 on Sourceforge. But it started a few months before, in November 2001 as a discussion between me and Frédéric Piccand, a fellow developer. It was a rainy night in the train from Geneva to Lausanne. The following weeks, OpenWFE grew to a bunch of A4 diagrams covering the walls of our office.

Frédéric then followed his agenda and couldn’t remain an active member of the project, but some of the initial visions are his.

A lot of the current concepts within OpenWFE were already present on those lost diagrams. OpenWFE grows through evolution, not revolution.

It’s too soon for writing in ‘historical mode’, it’s just beginning.
