about processes and engines

When defining a business process, there is the usual “and I want the system to send a notification to that guy at that point in the process”.

OK, usually, it’s about sending an email to someone.

I always thought that the other possibilty might be generating an entry in a feed to which coworkers are subscribed.
I would even love to have Atom as a mean to connect distributed OpenWFEru process engines (and other applications). Not far from it, but that’s another story.

Nowadays, there is Twitter, between IM and Tumblr, so let’s ride that horse. (reminds me that I always loved the saying : “give a horse to the one that told the truth”)

The TwitterParticipant ties twitter notifications to business processes :

Now your coworkers have to follow the Twitter account you set up for your organization.

This TwitterParticipant will be part of the upcoming (last week of July) OpenWFEru release 0.9.13. It uses the fine Twitter4r library.
