edo cabinet – rubykaigi2009
Here are my slides for the “edo cabinet” talk at the RubyKaigi2009.
I presented about Ruby-FFI, Tokyo Cabinet|Tyrant and then rufus-tokyo and Rufus::Edo.
These are just slides, here is the english transcript of the actual talk.
Many thanks to the RubyKaigi team for organizing this great event ! Special kudos to Leonard Chin for the on-the-fly translations, throughout the 3 days.
You’ll find videos of most of the talks on ustream.tv (thanks to the KaigiFreaks) and most of the slides are available from Slideshare.
John, thanks for the comment on my blog, I was surprised anyone actual read it! That posting was actually a test of my “discussion globbing” feature on http://newsforwhatyoudo.com/groups/643ddee01cd911deaef1001aa018681c/news/92a18ffa428311de9bfb001aa018681c
I’m building a news reader with the objective of delivering relevant and comprehensive news for special interest topics. I have two questions – first – what features would make you switch from your current reader (or twitter if that’s what you use) for discovering/reading content relevant to your job, and second have you used Tokyo Tyrant in production – what do you think of http://twitter.com/dkastner statement that its not production ready?

Hello Logan,
1) I’m happy with Google Reader + Twitter + PostRank.
2) That’s just a tweet, there is no context, where is the detailed bug report ? Mixi.jp and plurk.com are happily using TC/TT in production.
Best regards.
